EmpowerRide was founded by Dr. Peter Anaradian, a physician who spent years working in emergency and acute care settings, where he routinely treated children with complex medical and mobility needs.
In the ER, Dr. Anaradian began noticing a troubling and recurring pattern. Families were doing everything they could to keep their children mobile, included, and safe in daily life, but many lacked access to appropriately designed, medically regulated mobility solutions. As a result, parents were often forced to improvise or adapt non-medical equipment to meet their child’s needs.
Dr. Anaradian treated injuries related to inadequate postural support, improvised seating systems, unstable platforms not designed for medical use, and devices not intended to support medical accessories. These situations were never the result of neglect. They were the result of gaps in the system—limited options, coverage barriers, and a lack of FDA-cleared pediatric mobility solutions that addressed real-world clinical needs.
That reality stayed with him and EmpowerRide was created to bridge that gap! From Clinical Observation to Medical Solution.
The EmpowerRide NAVIGATOR is an FDA-cleared pediatric mobility device designed from the ground up as a medical mobility solution, not a consumer product adapted for medical use.
The NAVIGATOR was developed to support children who are partially or permanently non-ambulatory, provide stable and clinically appropriate seating, and reduce the need for unsafe improvisation by offering families and clinicians a regulated medical option to discuss, prescribe, and support.
